The timing couldn?t be better for the 67th anniversary convention of the Central States Numismatic Society.

As the numismatic market continues its recent surge, it will be held April 26-29 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The facility is located at 400 N. High St.

?With the numismatic market even stronger than during our previous Columbus event, we are all anticipating another in a succession of highly successful CSNS conventions,? said Kevin Foley, general chairman.

Bourse activities will be held throughout the four-day event. There will be no bourse hours on Sunday, April 30.

The Professional Numismatists Guild will launch the bourse, with its 275 booths, on the traditional PNG Day on Wednesday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Approximately 100 PNG member dealers will host the event. To be admitted, you must receive a written invitation from a PNG member.

During the convention, admission to the bourse area is free. It will be open to the general public April 27 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 28-29.

Before the public bourse opens, there will be a special professional preview from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 27. Collectors and members of the numismatic trade without booths can be admitted to the bourse area during booth holder setup for a $50 registration fee.

Two auctions hosted by Heritage Auction Galleries and its currency affiliate, Currency Auctions of America, will be held in conjunction with the convention. For more on these, see the separate story on Page 20.

Educational programs and club meetings will be held throughout the CSNS show. The social highlight of the convention will be the annual Awards Breakfast, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on April 29 at the headquarters hotel, the Crowne Plaza, located at 33 E. Nationwide Blvd.

At the Awards Breakfast, special events include the Best-of-Show Award presentation, along with the Elston Bradfield Literary Award and the Medal of Merit.

Details about the CSNS convention, including a list of all of the participating booth holders and the complete schedule of events, are available on the organization?s Web site, located at www.centralstates.info.
