Attendance at the 71st annual convention of the Central States Numismatic Society closed out my April numismatic travels. This year’s gathering was hosted in Milwaukee, the 12th time the organization has assembled there, commencing with the third in 1941.
My numismatic road-running for the month of April closed out with attendance at the 70th anniversary convention of the Central States Numismatic Society in Cincinnati, an outing that spilled over into the first days of May.
Honoring founding member Eric Newman and holding a great convention were two of the things on the to-do list of the Central States Numismatic Society board of governors May 9-12 in St. Louis. Both goals were achieved, but commercial conditions on the bourse floor were somewhat weaker than some market participants would have liked and public attendance was a little light.
The Professional Numismatists Guild will conduct another installment of its continuing series of PNG Share the Knowledge seminars at the Central States Numismatic Society’s 71st anniversary convention at 1 p.m. April 30 in Milwaukee, Wis.
