After a vacancy of two years, Thomas J. Uram has been appointed to serve on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.
The U.S. Mint made the announcement Sept. 12.
Uram was appointed on the recommendation of Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives John Boehner. His term is four years.
Uram brings 38 years of experience in the numismatic field. He is currently president of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists. He also is President of the George Washington Numismatic Association and has been since 1998.
He holds memberships in the American Numismatic Association, Western Pennsylvania Numismatic Society, Central States Numismatic Society, Florida United Numismatists, South Hills Coin Club and North Hills Coin Club.
Uram has a B.A. degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky.
The CCAC advises the Treasury Secretary on themes and designs of U.S. coins and medals.
