The second week of sales for the 2010 Buffalo proof gold 1 ounce coin were about one-quarter of those recorded in the first week of sales.

Sales of the $1,510 coin totaled 4,687 coins for the second week, compared to 12,778 coins sold the first week it was on the market.

That brings total sales to $26,370,640. And with the Mint taking about a 25 percent premium on each coin, that means $6,600,000 in Mint coffers.

The 2009 Buffalo proof gold coins sold out in five months.
