In early January St. James’s Auctions of London announced a merger with Baldwin’s Auctions.
The new company will be called Baldwin’s of St. James’s. It will be run by Stephen Fenton founder of both Knightsbridge Coins and St. James’s Auctions.
The new company’s first sale was The Argentum Auction held on Feb. 4 at The London Coin Fair in Bloomsbury. Their first major auction was slated for March 28.
Baldwin’s annual Spring auctions held in early May will continue under the new company. As in the past, this year will include Islamic coins.
The new company has been chosen as the official auctioneer for Coinex, the international London coin fair. This year it will be held Sept. 22-23.
The company’s website is www.bsjauctions.com. At the time of writing this was still a work in progress. Until it is fully up and running information can be accessed at http://stjauctions.com and http://www.baldwin.co.uk.
Auction catalogs can be obtained via info@stjauctions.com.
