This year marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Mini automobile, and Great Britain is celebrating the milestone with limited edition commemorative coins produced by the Royal Mint.

The mint has produced several versions of legal tender coins for the British Crown dependency of Alderney. Least expensive is the BU £5 cupronickel, housed in a color presentation folder, limited to 100,000 pieces, priced at $19.95.

The similarly designed limited edition sterling silver proof version, of which 5,000 are authorized, features a colorized British flag on the roof of the Mini. It comes in a presentation case with a certificate of authenticity and is priced at $85.

The coins may be obtained from official distributor PandaAmerica, 460 Torrance Blvd., Suite 100, Torrance, CA 90503. Credit card orders can be placed by calling the company at (800) 472-6327.

Add $5 per order for shipping and handling.
