The top collection of large cents will be on display Nov. 4-5 at the Bowers and Merena Auction booth at the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Baltimore Expo.

Ranked the No. 1 registry set by both the Professional Coin Grading Service and Numismatic Guaranty Corp., the Cardinal Collection Educational Foundation’s large cent collection exhibit is sponsored by B&M and Collateral Finance Corporation.

“It is truly an amazing collection that includes some of the finest known examples of United States large cents struck from 1793 to 1857, said Greg Roberts, CEO of B&M.

“There are 77 large cents in the set, and many are the finest known for their respective date and type,” he added.

Free to visitors will be a 40-page illustrated booklet published by the foundation called “Portraits of Liberty.” It describes the history of large cents.

“This will be the first opportunity for collectors to see these superb-quality, early American cents in person in the Washington-Baltimore area,” said Martin Logies, a director of the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based foundation.
