The U.S. Mint has made available a 2012 Birth Set. Released at noon on March 13, it is the first time the Mint has offered a birth year product.

The set consists of five 2012 proof coins produced at the San Francisco facility: a Lincoln cent, a Jefferson nickel, a Roosevelt dime, an America the Beautiful quarter honoring El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico and a Kennedy half dollar.

The set comes with a card that will house a 3-by-4 inch photo of the baby and a lock of the baby’s hair as well as spaces for a welcome message and the day/time of the birth and length/weight of the baby.
