Latin American numismatist Cristiano Bierrenbach has joined Heritage Auction Galleries as director of international sales, the firm announced Feb. 5.
?There are outstanding opportunities in the world coin market today for collectors and investors alike,? Bierrenbach said.
Initially he will work with Warren Tucker, director of world coin auctions, to create ancient and world coin catalogs for the Long Beach and New York auctions. Bierrenbach will also market Heritage in foreign markets.
Bierrenbach has been a Brazilian numismatic dealer for 10 years. He helped to strengthen Brazilian numismatics through his work as technical director in the Brazilian Numismatic Society and as founder and coordinator of the Latin American Numismatic Convention, the region?s largest coin show. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.
Bierrenbach wants to make the Heritage brand more important worldwide, with eventual plans to enlarge the company?s presence in Asia and Latin America, he said.
