BEP cards detail Lincoln

Five intaglio print cards depicting various stages of Lincoln’s life make up the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Series in honor of the 200th anniversary Abraham Lincoln’s birth.        

Five intaglio print cards depicting various stages of Lincoln’s life make up the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Series in honor of the 200th anniversary Abraham Lincoln’s birth.

The cards will be released in conjunction with the BEP’s participation at numismatic events throughout the year.

The first to be issued was the American Numismatic Association’s National Money Show “Humble Beginnings” card. It features engraved images of portraits and vignettes representing Lincoln’s early life. The show was held March 13-15.

The second print card of the series, titled “Family,” will be available at the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Convention March 26-28 in Baltimore, Md.

Themes of the remaining three cards are “A Nation Torn Apart,” “Emancipation” and “Legacy.” Individual cards are priced at $20 each.

The intaglio print cards are also available through the BEP’s subscription program. Details and release dates are available at Web site www.moneyfactory.gov.
