Forgive me, but I will be lazy this morning. The U.S. Mint sent out information yesterday to its Authorized Purchasers of silver American Eagle bullion coins and it speaks for itself. As you know, interest is running high in these coins.
I will paste the text below. Thanks U.S. Mint for giving me a day off.
The information below has been sent to the Mint’s Authorized Purchasers regarding ordering 2014 American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins.
Authorized Purchasers,
Re: American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin Ordering - 2014
In anticipation of the release of the 2014 American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins, please note the following:
Order Acceptance: As previously communicated to you, the United States Mint will begin accepting orders for 2014-dated American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins on Monday, January 13, 2014. Standard two-day value will apply to all orders unless otherwise requested and approved by United States Mint personnel. This means that the first day of pick-ups for orders placed on Monday, January 13, 2014, will be Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the West Point Mint.
Allocation: All 2014 American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins sales will be based on the United States Mint’s standard allocation process until further notice. We anticipate having approximately 3.5M coins to allocate on January 13, 2014. Allocated quantities for the following week will be much lower.
Fulfillment: Until further notice, all United States Mint gold and silver bullion coin pick-ups will remain exclusively at the West Point Mint. Standard bullion coin pick up procedures will apply.
San Francisco Mint – Produced Coins: The West Point Mint will have an inventory of both 2014-dated West Point and San Francisco-produced silver bullion coins on January 13, 2014. All American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin orders accepted on January 13th will be fulfilled randomly with boxes of San Francisco-produced and West Point-produced bullion coins. San Francisco will continue to produce, on a weekly basis, 2014 American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. Until further notice, all American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins produced in San Francisco will be transported to the West Point Mint for final fulfillment to the Authorized Purchasers.
Authorized Purchasers will not be allowed to specify San Francisco or West Point-produced coins in their orders. The American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin green outer, recyclable boxes will feature the unique “banding” of the facility where the coins were struck.
Multiple Orders: Unfortunately, the United States Mint is presently not able to break up Authorized Purchasers silver bullion coin orders into multiple orders. You will be allowed to place one American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin order per day until your allocation is depleted. If you do not order all of the coins allocated you during the week, those coins will go back into the allocation pool for the following week.
Early/Late Pickup: Please remember that all requests for early or late pick-ups must first be pre-approved by United States Mint precious metal team personnel prior to order confirmation.
