Beier’s exhibit was “Westward Ho! The Journey of Lewis and Clark.” The award was announced in August at the American Numismatic Association convention in Baltimore, Md., the official engraved plaque was mailed later. Majoros took the opportunity to present it to Beier at the meeting.

Beier has been a member of OCCC for the past two years and attended a two-week Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, Colo., this past summer. One week was on an ANA scholarship.

“Zachary has been a tremendous supporter of the hobby by attending every meeting and accomplishing additional numismatic assignments that have broadened his overall knowledge of the hobby,” Majoros said. “In addition, he has exhibited at all the club shows since he’s been a member as well as at the state association convention, where he was selected at the State Young Numismatist of the Year for 2008.”
