2011 Army commemorative coins are now on sale by the U.S. Mint.

It will sell a maximum of 100,000 $5 gold coins, 500,000 silver $1 coins, and 750,000 half dollar clad coins to recognize the founding of the U.S. Army in 1775.

Special introductory pricing will be honored through 5 p.m. ET on March 2, when a $5 increase takes effect.

The introductory price list is as follows:

• $5 gold proof, $449.95
• $5 gold uncirculated, $439.95
• Silver $1 proof, $54.95
• Silver $1 uncirculated, $49.95
• Clad half dollar proof, $17.95
• Clad half dollar uncirculated, $15.95

Orders will be accepted at usmint.gov/catalog, or at 1-800-USA-MINT.

All domestic orders will be assessed a $4.95 fee to cover shipping and handling.
