Coin dealer Joel Anderson is celebrating his 40th anniversary in the numismatic business by issuing elongated good-for tokens.
He says he started in the business as a coin dealer when he was still in high school in 1970. He reached customers with classified ads placed in Numismatic News.
The original tokens were issued by Anderson in 1995 for his 25th anniversary.
A brass colored token that had a good-for value of $2.50 has been elongated and now has a good-for value of $4.
The new value was placed on the elongated. At the top is Anderson’s web address at www.joelscoins.com. It also lists his mailing address at the bottom, which is P.O. Box 365 Grover Beach, CA 93483.
On the left of the Chinese cash coin logo is “40th Anniversary/1970-2010.” On the right is “Good For/$4.00/In Trade.”
A copper 50-cent good-for token was elongated to make a $1.40 piece. The design is similar to that of the brass colored token except the value is on the left side of the cash coin logo and the anniversary information is on the right.
A set of all four is priced at $9 postpaid and they may be redeemed at any time for merchandise. Send orders to the mailing address listed above, or e-mail joel@joelscoins.com for more information.
