Numismatic Ambassador Bernard “Barny” Loebe of Houston, Texas, died May 27.

Mr. Loebe was given the award Jan. 22, 2004, at the Money Show of the Southwest in Houston.

His numismatic resume includes being on the convention committee of the 1978 American Numismatic Association convention in Houston and he held every office in the Greater Houston Coin Club.

He was known for his exhibits and he was an ANA-certified judge. He served as the GHCC Club Representative to the ANA for over 10 years.

He was the oldest member of GHCC. He was also active in the Texas Numismatic Association and the Society of Paper Money Collectors.

A memorial service was held June 4 at the Santana Funeral Home in Houston.
