All Eyes – and Dollars – on Silver
Silver prices are at record highs, and this week’s sales totals show that it has collectors’ attention. The top two highest sellers this week consist of silver Mint products.
Coming in first is the 2020-W proof silver American Eagle coin. It jumped a whopping 7,969 from last week for an overall sales total of 316,695. Following closely behind in the number two spot is the 2020-W uncirculated silver American Eagle. Coming in at 107,270 total, it saw an increase of 7,381 over last week.
2020 proof sets fill the next two slots of our top 5 this week. The 10-coin clad proof set with “W” nickel totaled 320,832, and the 10-coin silver proof set with “W” nickel reached 244,948. Both sets saw an increase of more than 4,000 from last week.
Coming in at number five is a newly added listing to our charts: the 2020 American Innovation reverse proof dollar for Connecticut with a total of 27,255. It saw an increase of more than 2,500 this week.
A handful of sales numbers went down in this week’s report, indicating that the Mint likely did some reconciling of its books. The most dramatic decrease is seen for the Basketball Hall of Fame enhanced uncirculated kids set, which dropped by a considerable 3,495 to an overall total of 20,804.
