Alaskans have until Feb. 28 to present ideas for the state quarter to their governor. And Arizona is asking for input from the state?s schoolchildren on potential state quarter designs.
In April 2005, Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski appointed the Alaska Commemorative Coin Commission, charged with reviewing design submissions between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, 2006.
The state is asking for written design concepts from its residents for the quarter, due out in 2008.

In Arizona, Gov. Janet Napolitano has asked that the Arizona State Quarter Commission try to get the state K-12 students to come up with possible designs for the Arizona quarter.
