I do not feel that making light of the H1N1 flu bug recently spreading in the world is of any use. It is sad for those affected, and very sad for the familes of those who die.
However, there are numismatic connections. The High School in Queens, NY, where over 15 students have been affected is St. Francis Prep. A Catholic High School in the Borough of Queens. I had friends who went there in the day. They have a great record of scholarship, and they have specially made track medals!
This particular example was awarded for the 600 yd. race in 1957. It is marked with the firm of Conference, NY, and measures a nice 40mm in diameter.
