Four days after it went on sale May 18, the Mint had tallied sales of 127,489 for the 2016 uncirculated coin sets.
This start puts it on track to match the sales level achieved by the 2015 set, which presently stands at 305,482.
Because 2016 marks the end of the Presidential dollar series, only three Presidential designs rather than four are included.
Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan conclude a series that began in 2007 with George Washington and saw four designs issued each year.
Price of $26.95 for the 2016 set is $2 less than the 2015 set, precisely matching the two fewer dollar coins (P and D) in this year’s set compared to the 2015 issue.
