It wasn’t a sellout, but the John Marshall commemorative coins are no longer available from the U.S. Mint.
The proof silver dollar, the uncirculated silver dollar and the John Marshall Coin & Chronicles Set all went off sale on Dec. 1.
The move was made to ensure delivery of the products by Dec. 31, in keeping with legislative requirements.
Last known sales figures for the proof silver and the uncirculated silver dollar were 141,993 and 48,953, respectively.
At last count, a total of 18,134 Marshall Coin & Chronicles Sets had sold, which includes an uncirculated dollar. That brings the total of coins sold to 209,080 pieces, far fewer than the 400,000 authorized.
