Bob R. Simpson plans to place an unprecedented exhibit at the Florida United Numismatists convention in Tampa, Fla. Jan. 6-8, 2011.
The display is a complete set of the 95-percent copper alloy cents struck in error in 1943.
The rare pieces are part of a Professional Coin Grading Service Registry Set. The coins will be located at the PCGS booth on the bourse floor. There will be a total of nine coins in the set, including steel examples of 1944 cents.
Most collectors dreamed of finding a copper 1943 cent in their change but never did. But the dream still lives and at FUN hobbyists will get to see the results of how Simpson fulfilled his.
