For a couple of years leading up to this summer's events, the Monnaie de Paris has been releasing coins in honor of the 2024 Olympics. In 2021, they released a set of coins to represent the French Olympic and Paralympic teams. Since then, they have continued to release coins in copper, silver, and gold for all the different sports that will be taking place in Paris.

The Paris Olympics also has a new mascot, the Olympic Phryge, based on traditional Phrygian hats. The Phrygian hat symbolizes freedom and represents allegorical figures of the French Republic, making it a fitting mascot for this year’s host.

The Olympic Phyrge has been appearing on coins, showcasing different attractions and traditions of Paris, from walking the Champs-Elysées to sitting at a Parisian café.

There are numerous coins in the whole collection, but they are going fast. You won’t want to be left competing for a medal, or should we say a coin, to add to your collection.
