The New Zealand Mint announced it is changing the collectibles experience by introducing Agoro. The New Zealand Mint still backs the new brand but separates the two to provide more focus to its customers. Agoro is named from the symbol for silver (Ag) and the Spanish and Italian word for gold (oro).

The announcement states, “It became evident that the dual focus of the New Zealand Mint brand, encompassing both bullion trading and consumer collectibles, was not optimally positioned to serve the unique needs of our collectors.”

The New Zealand Mint will continue to invest in silver and gold bullion and is the parent company of Agoro. New coin releases that are part of an ongoing series will still have the New Zealand Mint branding, maintaining consistency within the coin design.

“Behind the scenes the same New Zealand Mint team you have come to trust is here, just with an increased focus on the world of collectibles,” the announcement states.

The customer service team will be focused on collectibles rather than having to divide their attention between collectibles and bullion.

Collectors should now go to the Agoro website to find new releases.
