2026 marks the Semiquincentennial of the United States’ independence. To celebrate, the U.S. Mint has begun releasing new designs for circulation, including 5 new quarters and a new dime.

One of the new quarters, the Revolutionary War quarter, was released in rolls and bags this past month. Both the Revolutionary War quarter and the Mayflower Compact quarter have been doing very well with their initial release. There has been much speculation in the community on whether these Semiquincentennial coins would attract any new collectors, and the numbers are speaking for themselves. The Numismatic News team will continue to keep an eye out for the reception of these new coins.

In addition to the quarters, the new 2026 dime was also released. Despite the controversy surrounding the reverse design, the new coin has been well-received.

The last new coin to be added to this month’s report was the Wisconsin American Innovation dollar. Having been released not long before this Mint Statistics was put together, the sales are easily keeping up with the previously released dollars.

Unless otherwise stated, all boxed figures are compiled on April 28, 2026. Numbers provided by the U.S. Mint. Totals are cumulative from the beginning of sales unless marked otherwise.
