About 115 people attended the 8th Annual Wyo-Braska Coin & Stamp Collector Show Sept. 13 in Gering, Neb.
As with many shows in recent years, attendance was down slightly, but dealers were happy with the outcome despite the slightly lower numbers.
Sales were good for coins, paper money, stamps and supplies. Many attendees brought items to sell and in many cases deals were completed to the satisfaction of the buyer and seller. Dealers were present from three states.
A special guest at this year’s show was Mitch Ernst, president of the Nebraska Numismatic Association and editor of the NNA Journal. He came from Omaha to peruse the Gering Civic Center as a possible future location for the NNA State Coin Show and to discuss it with Lawrence Gibbs, past NNA president in 1979/80.
The Scottsbluff/Gering area was host to two NNA shows in the 1970s. He also provided two additional door prizes that were given away at the conclusion of the show.
