‘Spookapalooza’ marked with EC
A limited edition elongated copper cent has been produced for the Hawaiian Railway Society’s annual train-ride Halloween event, “Spookapalooza.” The nighttime rides are about 30 minutes long and include ghost stories as the train travels through the darkness in Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii.

This year’s event will be held Oct. 26-27. A portion of the EC proceeds will go to the Hawaiian Railway Society for restoration projects at the HRS Museum in Oahu.
The EC features the restored Dillingham Parlor Car No. 64 (1901) that is located at the HRS Museum. Passengers on the railcar include a jack-o’-lantern, ghosts, bats and a spider.
The dated elongated cents are available for $2 each, five for $7.50, 10 for $12.50 and 25 for $25, including postage, from Michael Mochizuki.
