Heritage Auctions will call the official sale at the Summer FUN convention July 12-15 in Orlando, Fla.
Topping this Florida United Numismatists auction is an 1893-S Morgan silver dollar graded MS-60 by the Professional Coin Grading Service.
The auction firm notes that this key Morgan date is popular and few make it to a Mint State grade. This particular piece has a few surface marks, but they are scattered and minor and that eye appeal is excellent.
Another silver dollar will also be a sale highlight. It is an Numismatic Guaranty Corp. MS-61 1795 Flowing Hair dollar. Because the Flowing Hair design lasted just two years, type collectors focus on the more reasonably priced 1795 pieces.
Cataloged as the B-5, BB-27 variety, the coin is the most common variety of any 1795 dollar regardless of type and as such is the most collectible Three Leaves example as well.
Veterans of the present day rush to gold might appreciate a reminder of California Gold Rush days. An NGC AU-58 1848 $2.50 with CAL. stamped into the reverse will be offered.
Keeping up with a dollar coin theme, the auction will also offer an AU-55 pewter 1776 Continental Dollar with CURRENCY spelled with two Rs.
