Available at the Long Beach Expo scheduled for Sept. 7-9 will be this five-ounce silver coin honoring Ellis Island.

The U.S. Mint will unveil the latest five-ounce silver coin honoring Ellis Island at the Long Beach, Calif., Expo, which will be held Sept. 7-9.

“We’re thrilled to close out our Expo year with offerings from the U.S. Mint, which will be displaying and selling beautiful commemoratives, proof sets and more, including their brand-new 5 ounce coin,” said Long Beach Expo President Cassi East.

Over 500 dealers are expected to attend this staple event on the convention circuit.

The public has an added incentive to consider going. Any attendee can enter to win a gold coin simply by registering online. Winners will be announced each day of the show at 1 p.m.

Heritage Auctions will call four Signature Auctions.

The Mint will also be showing the 225th Anniversary Four-Medal set, featuring four medals from four different mints with four different finishes. The medal set has reverse proof, proof, an enhanced uncirculated and uncirculated medal.

PCGS Co-Founder David Hall will be conducting “Meet the Expert” sessions, which is an opportunity for the public to bring their coins to the show and have them examined by a numismatist with decades of experience.

At the Kids Treasure Hunt., children can earn free coins by participating 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for seniors and children aged 8 to 16.
