Four speakers will share their expertise with collectors at a Central States Numismatic Society seminar Sept. 29 at the Gateway Center Holiday Inn in Flint, Mich. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Farran Zerbe Award winner Prue Fitts’ topic will be “Women on Ancient Coins.” From Wolfeboro, N.H., Fitts is an expert on Byzantine coinage.
Joining her in the classroom will be former American Numismatic Association President Bob Campbell of Salt Lake City. He will instruct the class on “How to Make Good Deals when Buying Coins.”
“Flying Eagles and Indian Cents” is the topic of well-known expert Rick Snow of Tucson, Ariz.
The fourth speaker will be Peter Huntoon of Boulder, Nev. He is a National Bank Note expert and paper money researcher. He will focus on “Michigan National Bank Notes.”
Cost of the seminar is $10 for members of Central States and $20 for non-members. The fee includes a continental breakfast and a “Make Your Own Sandwich” lunch.
