The Chicago Paper Money Expo will be held March 7-10 at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont.
Lyn Knight Currency Auctions will offer up an outstanding sale of U.S. and world currency, said Scott Tappa, Krause Publications numismatics publisher and CPMX chairman.
Lot viewing begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, with the first session – covering world bank notes – set for 5 p.m. Thursday, March 7. U.S. currency sessions will run at 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information visit www.lynknight.com.
The bourse will be packed with the country’s leading paper money dealers and attendees looking to buy.
Joe Boling will present a talk to the Chicago Coin Club at 1 p.m. March 9 called “Building a National Currency – Japan 1868-1899.”
The International Bank Note Society will hold a meeting at 2 p.m. on March 9.
“It seems like yesterday that we left the Crowne Plaza after a successful 2012 CPMX, but here we are, back for another great show,” said Tappa.
CPMX opens for dealer setup at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, and to the public for professional preview viewing at 2 p.m. (admission $50). General public attendance runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10.
Krause Publications’ paper money editors and experts will be in attendance, including Bank Note Reporter editor Bob Van Ryzin, Standard Catalog of World Paper Money editor George Cuhaj and U.S. paper money market analyst Bill Brandimore.

The Crowne Plaza has completed a wholesale renovation and now features updated rooms and new eating establishments. The hotel is located a short taxi ride from O’Hare International Airport.
The Crowne Plaza will also be the site of another leading specialty numismatic event in April: the Chicago International Coin Fair, scheduled for April 18-21. Featuring a Heritage auction and an active bourse floor, CICF promises to be one of spring’s most exciting events.
