The Garfield Heights Coin Club celebrated Halloween Oct. 17 at the Garfield Heights, Ohio, Civic Center with 93 members in attendance.
The meeting began with a social hour and auction lot viewing, followed by a 50-50 raffle, and a 115-lot member's auction.
The auction, which was comprised of a great run of Morgan silver dollars, totaled $4,261, and was conducted by long-time club auctioneers Ron Nelson and Frank Buchwald. Doughnuts and coffee were served following the auction.
Member's and raffle prizes were awarded, capped off by a 2 peso Mexican gold piece. Three proof sets were awarded in a special drawing comprised of members participating in the special Halloween costume display and celebration following the auction. Two new members joined during the meeting, bringing total paid membership in 2012 to 171 members, a new all-time record for the club.
