Attendance strong at Waukesha show
A total of 393 paying adults as well as young people who were admitted for free came out for the Waukesha, Wis., Coin Club’s March 11 show held in Brookfield, Wis. Attendance was down slightly from the previous year’s count of 425, but organizers attribute 2011’s uptick to the bullion rush.
“Collectors have returned in full force and our dealers were very happy with their results,” said Tom Snyder, show chairman.
A highlight of the day came with the appearance of club senior member Harold Koeffler, 100, who attended the show to sell two rolls of 1964 silver quarters. After pricing his silver around the show, he decided to hold onto for them a while. Snyder describes Koeffler as “the eternal optimist.”
