ICTA will hold its annual cash reporting/anti-money laundering educational seminar Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Room S-230-G of the Orange County (Fla.) Convention Center.
The program will be held in conjunction with the Florida United Numismatists convention.
Former IRS/CID Special Agent Ray Gregson will be the featured speaker and provide all the latest information. The FUN bourse opens for dealer set-up at 2 p.m.
The IRS has been actively targeting cash businesses – including coin/currency/precious metals dealers – and seizing significant sums of money from dealers’ bank accounts. In addition, more banks are requiring that their customers have anti-money laundering plans if so required by Section 352 of the USA Patriot Act.
Gregson will advise attendees of the latest requirements to be sure they are completely in compliance. Time will be provided for questions.
There is no charge for the seminar; costs are jointly sponsored by ICTA, Gregson and Florida United Numismatists (FUN).
Also at the seminar, Mark Fashian of Covenant Analytical Solutions (CAS) will announce the discount offered to ICTA members who purchase a counterfeit detection “gun” (hand-held metal thickness analyzer) that will be demonstrated throughout the show at its table.
ICTA will provide more information as available in member email updates.
