We are well into the summer season. Has your collecting slowed down, sped up or stayed the same? Why?
I generally spend less time with my numismatic hobby in the summer months. Too many outdoor activities to take advantage of during the summer months. Gardening, fishing, enjoying the outdoors, etc.

My collecting has pretty much stayed the same. I did have a slow period in April and May due to losing my spouse. I was pretty depressed for a while, but my coin collecting helped me through it. It kept my mind busy thinking about my coins instead of sitting around being depressed. Thank you so much, coin collecting.

My collecting has increased exponentially this summer. It’s not a problem; I can kick the habit when I like. Hello, my name is Mike, and I’m a coinaholic.

I find I have a bit more time to peruse auction offerings during the summer months; however, I don’t think they generally yield as many really neat, rare or desirable coins or notes as sales scheduled for winter and fall. I have to look to the bigger sales – Baltimore, Long Beach and the ANA – during “dog days,” while GreatCollections is always worth checking out each week.
