From Oct. 11 to Oct. 18, the Mint reports selling 1,582 one-ounce, 999 half-ounce, 556 quarter-ounce and 666 tenth-ounce proof gold Eagles. The week’s sales account for around 10 percent of the total sold since their release on March 12 of both the one- and quarter-ounces, 22 percent of the half-ounce and 5 percent of the tenth-ounce.
The 2015 proof gold Eagle four-coin set containing one of each denomination is reported sold out. Buyers ordered a total of 10,088 sets.
Likewise, the 2014-W proof silver Eagle went off sale with collectors purchasing 894,627 coins since its release.
