Sales of silver one-ounce American Eagle bullion coins jumped smartly. The May total now stands at 3,262,000, up 2,558,500 since last report. Because the Mint must ration supply, odd sales jumps occur as blanks become available for striking.

Gold bullion Eagles put in respectable sales numbers this week and platinum Eagles are just plain slow.

The continuing saga of the 5-ounce Smoky Mountains crawl to sellout status has now passed the 24,000 mark, just 957 short.

Going off sale were Arthur and both terms of Cleveland Presidential dollars. Harrison had previously gone off sale.
