Proof platinum American Eagles hit the boards at 8,268. These numbers were put up by the Aug. 15 report date after having gone on sale Aug. 12. At that rate, the coin will hit the 10,000 maximum before you can read this.

There are some strange movements this week. For example, Franklin Pierce First Day Covers lost 1,241 from last week’s report. The 2010 uncirculated coin set hardly budged, up just 67 sets to 283,114. Mint set sales were probably halted so the Mint could detect whether there are more error plain edge Native American dollars in them as have just been reported.
When you follow these numbers week to week, it is easy to see how a glitch or a gremlin can change a reported number.
Sales of the Disabled Vets dollar were low, but that is just par for the course, not an unusual weekly movement.
Gold Eagle sales rose by 8,000 this week, which is not particularly strong, and silver was up by 609,000, which is fairly normal.
