The 2015 Birth and Happy Birthday sets were released by the United States Mint on Jan. 13. Both sets contain a 2015 Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Kennedy half and an America the Beautiful quarter. It is the Homestead National Monument quarter for the Birth set and the Saratoga National Historical Park quarter for the Happy Birthday set. Buyers have purchased 2,419 Birth sets and 1,554 Happy Birthday sets as of Jan. 18.
Bullion coins are still popular as precious metals prices are rising. The Mint reported it had sold an additional 1,041,500 silver Eagles as well as 9,500 gold Buffaloes between Jan. 14 and Jan. 21. During that same time, 17,000 more one-ounce, 2,000 half-ounce, 4,000 quarter-ounce and 5,000 tenth-ounce gold American Eagle bullion coins were ordered, keeping January’s status as a large sales month for bullion coins.
The Denver 2014 Native American 100-coin bag is now out of stock, with its 1,991 sales number suggesting it has been sold out. Philadelphia is close behind at 1,926.
