With no new U.S. Mint products having been released since our last report, this week we turn our attention to month-end results for May.
Sales of the 2022 1-ounce Buffalo bullion coin ended the month at 52,000, up from 36,500 in our last report. Year-to-date (YTD), total sales sit at 234,000.
While nothing earth-shattering, gold bullion Eagles saw a bit of movement in the last couple weeks of the month. The 1-ounce coin jumped from 93,000 at our last count to 137,500 to round out the month. The 1/2-ounce version increased from 2,000 to 5,000. YTD totals are at 568,000 and 58,000, respectively. There were no increases for the 1/4- and 1/10-ounce gold Eagles, so those YTD totals remain at 110,000 and 370,000, respectively.
No changes were recorded for the silver bullion Eagle. Its total remains at 850,000 for the month of May and 9,281,500 for the year thus far.
Our next report will include initial sales numbers for the 2022 1-ounce American Eagle uncirculated coin, which becomes available June 1. Following that, the 2022 American Innovation $1 proof set launches June 7. Stay tuned.
