March bullion sales tiptoe ahead

March bullion sales as of March 5 stand at 2,250 one-ounce, 2,000 half-ounce, 2,000 quarter-ounce and 10,000 tenth-ounce gold Eagles. Authorized Purchasers also ordered 587,000 silver Eagles and 1,500 gold Buffaloes.

The U.S. Marshals $5 gold uncirculated coin saw a net loss of 251 coins due to returns between Feb. 22 and March 1.

The Warren G. Harding $250 Denver box has sold out at 5,050 purchased.

The United States Mint sales report has removed the 2014 First Spouse medal sets, usually meaning the sets are sold out.

The Homestead National Monument quarters went on sale Feb. 24. Buyers purchased 1,099 Philadelphia, 1,092 Denver and 3,080 San Francisco 100-coin bags. They also bought 7,195 Philadelphia and Denver roll sets, 2,897 San Francisco rolls and 6,555 three-roll sets, which feature a roll from each mint.
