Archives International Auctions will present an outstanding selection of rare U.S. and worldwide banknotes, scripophily, coins, and financial ephemera in Auction Sale #104, to be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 and a timed sale on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the firm’s offices in River Edge, New Jersey, and online.
Bidders can participate live online via the Archives International Live platform, as well as iCollector's bidding platform. Absentee and phone bids are also accepted.
The 500+ lot sale features several marquee rarities that are expected to generate significant interest among advanced collectors and institutions alike. One of the most anticipated offerings is a $10,000 Federal Reserve Note once displayed at the legendary One Million Dollar Display at Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas. This iconic note was part of the world-famous golden horseshoe display that dazzled visitors from 1964 until its dismantling in 1999.
“We are excited to offer an amazing $10,000 Banknote from the Binion’s Horseshoe Casino display,” said Dr. Robert Schwartz, President of Archives International Auctions. “It’s one of many outstanding and desirable pieces in the auction — including numerous items that are either fresh to the market or have been off collectors’ radar for decades.”
Another headliner is a 1921 stock certificate from the Houdini Picture Corporation, signed by the great escapologist Harry Houdini himself as president. A tangible relic of the master magician’s foray into motion pictures, this autograph item combines entertainment history with investment-grade scripophily appeal.
Additional highlights include:
- Lot 262: Reno National Bank, Nevada, $50, Series of 1902 Plain Back, Ch# 8324, Fr. 68. An attractive national banknote from a historic Western issuing bank.
- Lot 245: Providence, Rhode Island, Commercial Bank, ND (1830s–40s). A visually striking and rare Obsolete Proof Banknote — one of only two of this variety recorded in the PMG census, and possibly the finest known.
- Over 150 lots of world banknotes from A to Z with many highlights and desirable banknotes
- Over 60 lots of U.S. and World Coins
- Over 120 U.S. Obsolete, C.S.A., Nationals, and, Small & Large Type Notes.
