A final total of $2,129,682 was realized in Stack’s Nov. 30 auction in New York City.
The price includes the 15 percent buyer’s fee.
Topping the 1,289-lot sale was an 1842 Small Date half that brought in $50,000. The coin was considered to be in brilliant uncirculated condition by the cataloger.
An 1815 quarter, graded MS-67 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp., also netted $48,000.
