December bullion sales numbers soared like a bat out of you know where. Dec. 27 happens to be the date the Mint began accepting orders for 2008-dated bullion coins, so it looks like the silver Eagles have a strong start. Gold seems reasonably active and platinum is doing its selective bit.
Madison First Spouse sales have hardly budged since last week. The proof is up 105 and the uncirculated is up 139.
Platinum 10th anniversary set sales numbers came in at 16,167, still barely more than half of the 30,000 authorized.
The American Legacy set number actually went backwards by 608. Perhaps someone gave up on the set when it failed to reach a sellout.
