Read, read, and read some more, books that is. Online info is also a good source if from from a reliable expert. Then as I have done, do inventories of thousands and thousands of coins from people you know. Friends, relatives and neighbors. Also ask these people if they may have old coin albums, or old coins stashed away somewhere. Or, if you don’t want to do the leg-work, go online and buy Error Coins, just be certain they are Certified and Authenticated.

My advice is to forget it.If one insists on starting such an endeavor, be prepared to invest more money than each coin is worth to purchase them from professional collectors and dealers who own/purchase all of these coins. The effort is not worth it.
