Perhaps as a special 100th birthday present, the Royal Canadian Mint has been named one of Canada’s top 100 employers by MediaCorp for the third consecutive year.
The commercial Crown corporation has two facilities, one in the national capital of Ottawa, first established in 1908, and one in Winnipeg, which was set up in 1976. Between the two, the RCM employs 850 employees.
“The Royal Canadian Mint is extremely proud top be included as one of Canada’s top 100 employers,” says Ian E. Bennett, RCM president and CEO.
The RCM also was named one of 15 top employers in the national capital region and one of the top 10 family friendly employers.
In addition to producing coins for circulation in Canada, the RCM is noted for its many special collector offerings and its family of Maple Leaf gold, silver and platinum bullion coins that are currently in heavy demand from investors around the world.
The RCM has also struck coins for 60 countries over the past 25 years.
