If you are within driving distance of Pittsburg, Kan., there is a coin collecting seminar just for you this Saturday Oct. 10 at the Lamplighter Inn.
It is sponsored by the Kansas Numismatic Association and is a continuation of the “Numismatic Education for Kansans by Kansans” series.
On the schedule are three hour-long discussions led by local collectors.
Larry Hower of Salina will present, “Collector Benefits of the Civil War” at 8:30 a.m.
“Collecting Imperfect Coins” by Duane Higgins of Wichita is the second.
The final discussion is called, “Recruitment, Engagement and Retention of Coin Club Members.” It will be given by Dave Sorrick, who is a former president of KNA and current secretary of the Pittsburg Coin Club.
The panel discussion during this hour will feature officers of the Pittsburg Coin Club, the Joplin/Tri-State Coin Club, the Parsons Coin Club, and, the North West Arkansas Coin Club of Rogers, Ark.
There is not much time. Prior registration is required.
The cost of the seminar is $10 for KNA members and $20 for non-members.
The registration fee includes a coffee and doughnuts service and a lunch service after the event at 11:30 a.m.
