New Issue: Recently Released Coins from Around the World – October 2026

The latest world coin issues bring prehistoric creatures and ancient legends to life through bold designs and innovative minting techniques.

Canada

The Royal Canadian Mint pairs two dinosaurs from the prehistoric era for its 1-ounce pure silver coin: the Tyrannosaurus rex (T-Rex) and Quetzalcoatlus northropi. Produced with a limited mintage of just 8,500 coins, the coins offer selective color in daylight and a black light feature that reveals the subjects’ fossilized forms.

Cook Islands

The famous tale of the Trojan Horse stands tall on Power Coin’s new issue. Inspired by the famous tale of Odysseus, the wooden horse is shown as a relief, which was achieved by Smartminting and Smart 4.0 Relief technologies. On the $25 new issue for the Cook Islands is a moon in the sky and a cityscape that frames the cause of the fall of Troy.

New Zealand

A mānuka beetle has landed on a new 2-ounce silver proof for New Zealand. Designed by Fuller Design, the insect is an endemic scarab beetle to New Zealand. The bug is presented with green, red, and yellow coloring and is placed atop a mirrored proof background.

Niue

A head emerges from the water in the first release of the “Wireframe Art” series for Niue. The 2-ounce $2 silver three-dimensional coin entitled “Lady Waterfall” evokes an artistic sense of calm brought via a wireframe structure of a modeled human face that is placed on a colored, textured surface. Only 250 issues have been released for collectors’ purchase.
