Irsay collection to be sold at Christie’s NY
Rare $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 Federal Reserve Notes from the Jim Irsay Collection will cross the block at Christie’s in July.
Christie’s will be selling a group of high denomination small-size Federal Reserve Notes as part of The Jim Irsay Collection: Icons of History, a public auction taking place live on July 1st, 2026, at their NY saleroom at 20 Rockefeller Center at 10 am local time. The notes will be offered in lots 29 through 42 of the sale.
Highlights include two $10,000 notes (1934 New York and 1934 Chicago), the first is from the Binion Casino Million Dollar Horseshoe display.
Two $5,000 notes (1934 Chicago, 1934 Dallas).
Nine $1,000 notes. 1928 Atlanta, Kansas City, Richmond, St. Louis; 1934 Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia; 1934A San Francisco.
All but one of the notes are graded by PMG or PCGS as Choice Uncirculated, and most with the EPQ designation.
