The 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame products were launched June 4, but now these coins are bouncing back for a second installment. On Aug. 28 at noon EST, the U.S. Mint is releasing two products. They are the first colorized coins that the U.S. Mint has ever produced.

The first is the Basketball Hall of Fame 2020 colorized half dollar as part of its 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame coin program celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The obverse design features the same design as the other Basketball Hall of Fame coin products: three different figures all reaching for the basketball in unison. The reverse design depicts an orange basketball with black channels about to pass through a white net with an orange rim. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “HALF DOLLAR.” It will be available for $55.

The second product the Mint will make available is the Basketball Hall of Fame colorized silver dollar. The obverse design is the same as the aforementioned. The reverse design depicts a silver basketball with black channels passing through a white net and orange rim with the inscriptions: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “ONE DOLLAR.” The price is $95.

Both products can be ordered at catalog.usmint.gov. Telephone ordering is unavailable due to the impact of COVID-19.
