Robinson reports good sale results

All but 11 of the 426 lots were sold in Frank S. Robinson’s 75th Auction of Ancient and Early Coins.

Among the Greek coin offerings, the top item was an Akanthos Tetradrachm of 510-480 B.C. in VF that brought $1,225. A Parthian “Unknown King” Tetradrachm, Sellwood 30.2, grading VF/AVF, brought $1,025.

In the Roman section, the price leader was a Pompey Denarius with Catanaean Brothers reverse, graded EF but with some surface problems, brought $475.

The sale also included Byzantine and other early coinages, group lots, numismatic and historical literature, and a selection of fixed-price specials.
